Venus dimples, also known as “dimples of Venus,” are small indentations found on the lower back, just above the buttocks. These dimples form due to a ligament that connects the skin to the posterior superior iliac spine, creating a slight depression in the area.
They are often associated with beauty and attractiveness, as they are named after Venus, the Roman goddess of love. Some people naturally have these dimples due to genetics, while others may develop them through fitness and maintaining a low body fat percentage. In men, these indentations are called “Apollo holes” and are seen as a sign of good circulation, muscle definition, and overall health.
